Who Can Use BarCARES?

Lawyers (and members of their immediate family) can take advantage of the BarCARES counseling service if they are a member of a local bar group that has "opted into" a BarCARES program.

Coaching and counseling services are available to the students, faculty and staff of law schools that have established a BarCARES program.

Call this toll free number (1-800-640-0735) to find out if your local bar has a BarCARES program.

If a local bar group or law school is interested in "opting in" (establishing a BarCARES pilot program), contact Kaye Barbour, statewide BarCARES coordinator, at the NC Bar Association (1-800-662-7407 ext. 302 or kbarbour@ncbar.org). She will help make arrangements for someone to speak to your bar group to explain the details of the program.
