ATTORNEYS FROM ARGENTINA COMPLETE EXCHANGE THIS WEEK IN N.C.
The NCBA Attorney Exchange Program entered a new chapter this week thanks to eight attorneys from Argentina who are in North Carolina for a reciprocal visit, completing the exchange that began when an NCBA delegation traveled to Argentina last year. The delegation will cover the state this week with stops today at the N.C. Supreme Court in Raleigh and the N.C. Bar Center in Cary. Organized by the International Law and Practice Section, the program’s next exchange partner will be Turkey, where an NCBA delegation will visit in 2010.

WOMEN IN PROFESSION’S “RISE AND SHINE” PROJECT IS INSTANT SUCCESS
With 25 participants last Monday and 28 participants the following night, the NCBA Women in the Profession Committee’s “Rise and Shine” pilot project is off to a splendid start. At least two of the participants in the program, designed to assist disadvantaged women who are searching for employment, have already secured jobs. Expanding beyond its launch in Raleigh, there is good reason to believe the program will work elsewhere. Access the link below for a report from last week’s successful debut.
