DEADLINE FOR 2010 LIBERTY BELL NOMINATIONS IS JAN. 8
The deadline for nominations for the 2010 Liberty Bell Award, presented annually by the Young Lawyers Division on Law Day, is Jan. 8. The award will be presented on Friday, May 7, 2010, in conjunction with the 53rd observance of Law Day. Established in 1983, the Liberty Bell Award recognizes North Carolinians who have served with distinction in a wide array of leadership positions. IN MEMORIAM
Judge Robert T. Gash of Brevard died Dec. 12 at the age of 85. Practicing for more than half a century, Gash obtained the first million dollar verdict in the State of North Carolina in 1971. Retired Federal Magistrate Judge for the Western District of North Carolina J. Toliver Davis of Forest City died Dec. 11 at the age of 87. Navy veteran Lieutenant JG Joseph M. Griffin, 74, passed away Dec. 23. Griffin was an active member of the Charlotte community.

NALP OVERHAUL OF SUMMER ASSOCIATE RECRUITING PRACTICES
