Charlotte School of Law (CharlotteLaw)

The Charlotte School of Law, also referred to as CharlotteLaw, was founded in 2006 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The school is affiliated with the InfiLaw consortium of independent law schools.

Dennis Stone has served as interim dean of the law school since January 2009. He is a founding executive officer of InfiLaw, where he served as vice president for operations and new school development.

The Charlotte School of Law received provisional accreditation from the American Bar Association in 2008.

Students attending the Charlotte School of Law are involved in the NCBA through our Law Student Division, which is free to join. Members of the Law Student Division enjoy benefits such as:

  • Access to Casemaker, our online legal research tool;
  • One free membership to any of our 28 specialty sections; and
  • Subscriptions to North Carolina Lawyer magazine, e-bar (weekly electronic newsletter), the Law Student Bulletin and the Young Lawyers Division’s newsletter, The Advocate.
Student members are also invited to attend CLE programs for only $25, which includes materials as well as focused networking opportunities. Additional opportunities are provided through the Young Lawyers Division, including volunteer service with YLD committees. Law students may also participate in the YLD’s mentorship program, pairing students with experienced attorneys; priority is given to members of the Law Student Division.
