Karl N. Hill Jr., a former chair and emeritus member of the N.C. Board of Law Examiners, died Saturday, Dec. 2, in Greensboro.
Services are scheduled Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m. at St. Francis Episcopal Church, preceded by visitation on Monday, Dec. 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 N. Elm St., Greensboro.
Hill was the senior partner at Hill Evans Jordan & Beatty and had practiced law since 1958. He was a longtime member and past director of the Greensboro Bar Association and past president of the 18th Judicial Bar (2004-05). He served on the Board of Law Examiners from 1988 through 2001 and was chair from 1995 to 1998.
Hill graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1952 with a bachelor of science in business administration and received his juris doctor degree with honors from the UNC School of Law in 1958. In the interim, he served in the U.S. Naval Reserve in the Pacific. Upon release from active duty, he remained in the Naval Reserve, retiring with the rank of commander.
