Clocks? Check. What About Computers?
Article Date: Thursday, March 01, 2007
In anticipation of this year’s early switch – 2 a.m. Sunday, March 11 – to Daylight Savings Time, the IT Department of the North Carolina Bar Association has compiled a listing of links that address as many computer and network operating systems, software programs (e.g., Microsoft Outlook – e-mail), and “gadgets” as possible.
“Since our members use such a wide variety of equipment at work and home,” said IT Director Tom Purdy, “it’s not possible to provide links to all of the software and equipment used by our 14,500+ members.
“However, our list could help, especially if members will follow up with their IT staff or support group to see what has already been done to prepare for this early DST change.”
It's likely, Purdy added, that IT staffs have already installed the required patches since this issue has been widely discussed for months. However, it never hurts to check into an issue that can affect something as simple and important as having equipment with the right time.
