Professionalism CLE "Rocks": 25 Replays Set

The NCBA Foundation’s Professionalism Committee scored a perfect 10 on Friday, Dec. 12, with its annual professionalism CLE, Revitalizing the Lawyer-Poet: What Lawyers Can Learn from Rock and Roll.
Noted speaker Russell Pearce of the Fordham University School of Law headlined a superb program that attracted an overflow audience to the N.C. Bar Center’s Dorsett Auditorium. Dr. Landy Anderton of Raleigh, J.D., presented the substance abuse/mental health component of the program.
Some 175 people attended the program in person, joined by an additional 109 who participated via Webcast.
The program also featured an outstanding panel presentation moderated by Judge Linda Stephens of the N.C. Court of Appeals. Panelists were NCBA Past-President E. Osborne Ayscue Jr. of Charlotte, Bobbi Jo Boyd and Elizabeth Barber of the UNC School of Law, Brian Beverly of Raleigh and Mecklenburg County District Attorney Peter Gilchrist.
NCBA members will be pleased to know that this program, which received outstanding evaluations from its attendees, has been scheduled for 25 video replays during the first two months of 2009. The 4.0 credit hour program consists of three hours of ethics credit and one hour of substance abuse/mental health credit.
