Message to Members of the North Carolina Bar Association
Article Date: Wednesday, May 23, 2012
Dear Valued Member of the North Carolina Bar Association:
Many of you have experienced problems with our recent transition to a new list service provider. For this, I offer my sincere apology. The matter of converting this system has not gone as we had anticipated. Worse still, it has been understandably a source of aggravation to our members and their firms.
To address this situation, we are shutting off the list service effective immediately. This will enable us to rebuild the network and further address problems that we are experiencing. Many of these problems have already been corrected, but we want to make doubly sure that we get this right before a reactivation of the system. In addition, we want to stop the transmission of unwanted emails and test messages that many of you have been receiving, while eliminating the need for you to unsubscribe.
I cannot overstate my concern for the inconvenience that this has caused members of the North Carolina Bar Association. Reactivation of the system is scheduled for Wednesday, May 30. In the interim, selected NCBA Sections will remain online to assist us as we determine beyond a reasonable doubt that the system is performing as it should.
I thank you again for your patience and understanding.
Allan B. Head
