Rise and Shine Program Aids Disadvantaged Women Seeking Employment
Summary Date: Tuesday, September 13, 2011
Written By: Patrick Norris
The NCBA Women in the Profession Committee is holding its second "Rise and Shine" event on Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Mecklenburg Women's Commission in Charlotte.
This all-day event aids disadvantaged women seeking employment through lectures, mock interviews and computer tutorials. The event culminates with each participant selecting one or two suits for upcoming interviews.
Those interested in donating old suits may drop them off by Thursday, Sept. 15, at Womble Carlyle in Raleigh (attention: Jackie Hughes) or Lincoln Derr in Charlotte (attention: Emily Farr). Access this link for background information on "Rise and Shine," which was first held in 2009.
Do you know of an attorney or law firm that has been active in the community or has made significant charitable contributions? The outreach section of the NCBA website is designed to highlight these efforts. Contact Amber Smith, Assistant Director of Communications for Community Outreach and Social Media for the NCBA, at asmith@ncbar.org.
