Description:
This once-a-year program is a must for lawyers and non-lawyer mediators who want to enhance their skills as advocates, mediators and negotiators.
The program covers the spectrum of the DR practice:
- Learn from the founders: Five of NC's longest-established mediators discuss the best - and worst - lessons they've learned from thousands of mediations.
- In mediation, for mediators and counsel, alike, opening statements have a profound effect on the conduct and the outcome of the process. Discover how to craft your beginning to shape the best ending for you and your clients.
- For workers' compensation and employment lawyers/mediators, examine the impact of Medicare's interests in mediation, catch up on the recent changes in IC Rules and Workers' Compensation law, and review common issues in employment mediation.
- The basics of collaborative family law for family lawyers and mediators. NC's District Court Arbitration explained for litigating attorneys and arbitrators. A full update and analysis of NC case law affecting mediation.
- A comprehensive overview and discussion of ethical issues facing mediators and participants.
