   Coping With Stress (VIDEO)

Description:
  • Self-Care: Preventing Burnout and Chemical Coping Among Attorneys
    This session reviews non-chemical coping options associated with resilient attorneys. Emphases will be on specific behaviors that are immediately useful to manage professional stress. Caring for clients and the demands of the law practice drain individual attorneys-non-medical methods to revitalize and neutralize stress will be shared.
  • Ten Commandments for Law Practice Civility
    This session synthesizes operating principles associated with professional groups claiming high quality collegiality. Discussion will center on the underpinning principles of healthy groups but the audience is expected to share experiences derived from practicing in dysfunctional law firms.
  • Preventing Attorney Distress and Dissatisfaction: Why Good Lawyers Leave Practice
    This session covers commonly associated reasons for attorney dissatisfaction as a trigger for discussion on reality shock. Reducing reality shock requires defining both the symptoms of emotional exhaustion among lawyers and describing individual clashes of expectations that promote attorney distress.
