ABA PROPOSAL WOULD TIGHTEN BAR PASSAGE RATE STANDARDS
Law schools will fall under greater pressure to graduate students who are capable of passing the bar exam under proposed changes to the ABA’s accreditation standards. Drafted by the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar’s Accreditation Policy Task Force, the proposal will come before the House of Delegates in San Francisco during the 129th ABA Annual Meeting (Aug. 9-14). The ABA has been under increased pressure from the Department of Education which grants the ABA authority to accredit law schools. Click here for coverage; access ABA Comments & Reports below.

AOC RELOCATES FROM FIVE BUILDINGS TO N.C. JUDICIAL CENTER
For the first time, more than 400 employees of the N.C. Administrative Office of the Courts will be under one roof, thanks to its ongoing move into the 180,000-square-foot  West Raleigh facility that previously served as Nortel’s training center. The move from five different area buildings to the new N.C. Judicial Center is a work in progress for AOC Director Ralph Walker, who along with several departments has already relocated. Access the link below for more and stay tuned; a warehouse to supply court facilities statewide is planned for this site.
