JUDICIARY COMMITTEE SLATED TO CONSIDER SCHROEDER NOMINATION
Winston-Salem attorney Tom Schroeder could move one step closer to a seat on the U.S. District Court (Middle District N.C.) this Thursday when the Senate Judiciary Committee takes up the nomination in its scheduled business meeting. Nominated Jan. 9 by President Bush and subsequently rated “Well Qualified” by the ABA’s Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary, Schroeder received his confirmation hearing Oct. 24. WEB SITE OF THE WEEK
It stands to reason that “Inspired Cooking: Recipes and Reflections from the Heart of Charlotte,” includes significant involvement from members of Mecklenburg County’s legal community, given the location of the First Presbyterian Church and its unique place in the history of the Queen City. Judge Nancy Norelli co-chaired the project, the life of Judge Jim McMillan is recalled in Frye Gaillard’s reflective essay, and other members of the bar played a role in a project geared entirely toward feeding the hungry in Charlotte.
