LEGAL NEEDS, OPPORTUNITIES ACCOMPANY GROWTH OF NONPROFITS An article accessible via the link below devoted to the growing legal needs of tax-exempt organizations strikes a chord within the NCBA on a number of fronts, not the least of which is the impressive number of attorneys who already provide countless hours of unbilled counsel to nonprofit boards on which they serve. The coverage, which centers on the nonprofit community’s enormous impact on the U.S. economy and its voluntary use of the Sarbanes-Oxley standards, also calls attention to new opportunities that lawyers and firms are developing. http://www.law.com/jsp/law/sfb/lawArticleSFB.jsp?id=1195466651630
PART TWO OF E-DISCOVERY SERIES FOCUSES ON BLOGS, VENDOR SITES Robert Ambrogi, a Massachusetts attorney and media consultant whose work is often referenced in e-bar, is back with the second installment of his series on electronic data discovery. Having previously dealt with Web sites devoted to basic education and ongoing developments in the EDD field, the author has now compiled a useful survey of e-discovery blogs and vendor sites. “No lawyer today can afford to ignore electronic data discovery,” Ambrogi warns. “No matter the case, digital data is likely to be implicated. That means lawyers urgently need to understand EDD and keep abreast of developments in the field.” Access the link below for more. http://www.law.com/jsp/legaltechnology/pubArticleLT.jsp?id=1195639470428

In the face of BlackBerrys, Palm Pilots, Facebooks and the like, the Rolodex and its offspring remain popular tools within the world of networking. So the next time you’re branded a dinosaur for clinging to your carousel of contacts, direct your accuser to the article accessible via the link below and spin away. http://online.wsj.com/public/article/SB119585920760602459.html
