100% CLUB DEADLINE NEARS FOR CHARTER STATUS; 45 FIRMS LISTED The deadline to join as a Charter Member of the NCBA 100% Club is fast approaching. The Membership Department’s new recognition program is open to law firms, legal departments and law-related organizations with five or more attorneys, all of whom must be members of the NCBA. Firms that join before the deadline of Dec. 31, 2007, will be listed as Charter Members. The 100% Club now boasts 45 members, a list of which is accessible via the link below. TURNAGE STEPS DOWN AFTER 34 YEARS AS ROCKY MOUNT MAYOR Fred Turnage, recognized this year by the North Carolina Bar Association as an exemplary Citizen Lawyer, has stepped down as mayor of Rocky Mount after 34 years on the job. IN MEMORIAM The NCBA has learned of the deaths of two North Carolina attorneys. G. Emmett McCall of Winston-Salem, 64, died Tuesday. Arrangements are incomplete and will be posted to In Memoriam when they become available.
