4ALL UPDATE: “PARTICIPATE” EYES APRIL 4, “DONATE” TOPS $275,000 The NCBA’s 4ALL Task Force scarcely stopped to catch its breath over the holidays. The Participate working group is counting down to Friday, April 4, when volunteer attorneys will staff a statewide toll-free telephone network based in Asheville, Charlotte, Fayetteville, Greensboro, New Bern, Raleigh, Wilmington and Winston-Salem. Mark this date now and plan to sign up online to participate when the NCBA rolls out its new 4ALL Web site redesign in a few weeks. The Donate working group is also making great progress with more than $275,000 contributed toward the new LANC Fund from 377 donors. Access the link below to show your support, and be on the lookout for how you can participate in the Statewide Service Day on April 4! https://www.ncbar.org/foundation/endowment/lancFund.aspx
LAW FIRMS CAN LEARN A LOT FROM CONSUMER WEB SITES Looking to drive more traffic to your law firm’s Web site? Consider yourself, literally, and experiences you may have encountered when surfing the Internet. More business-to-business Web sites, including law firms, are adopting marketing techniques based on consumer sites. So whether you’re comparing prices and products or looking for a lawyer, you’re more likely to consider sites that are fast, visually appealing and user-friendly. Some consumer-driven trends to consider: linking off-site, search functions and Wikipedia entries. “Wiki” what? Unfortunately, NCBA law student members from out of state are not eligible to participate. More information and an online registration form, due Jan. 31, are accessible via the link below. http://fs7.formsite.com/ncbar/JobFair/index.html
