4-4 SERVICE DAY RECEIVES BILLBOARD BOOST; VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Two for one on the 4ALL front: First, the N.C. Outdoor Advertising Association has donated 26 billboards across the state for promotion of the NCBA’s statewide Public Service Day, scheduled Friday, April 4. A press conference is scheduled Wednesday morning in Raleigh to announce the gift – market value: $65,000! Two, volunteers are needed to staff the statewide network of call centers; volunteers are desperately needed in Winston-Salem, Fayetteville and Wilmington. JUDICIAL PERFORMANCE EVALUATION DATA COLLECTION CONTINUES Collection of data for the Judicial Performance Evaluation program is nearing completion for Superior Court judges; the process will begin soon for District Court judges. N.C. attorneys who have an e-mail address on file with the NCBA are receiving invitations to evaluate judges before whom they have appeared in recent years. The message includes a link to the survey. If you have not received your invitation, please check your spam filter. If that doesn’t resolve the matter and you wish to participate, contact the firm conducting the evaluation (509-868-4283). 2008-09 NCBA/F COMMITTEE PREFERENCE FORMS NOW BEING ACCEPTED Much of the work of the NCBA and the NCBA Foundation is accomplished through committees, and it will soon be time to make appointments for FY 2008-09. Committee participation affords an excellent opportunity to meet and work with attorneys across the state and to make a significant contribution to the legal profession. Although committee membership is limited, a concerted effort is made to place as many people as possible.
