4-4 VOLUNTEER FOCUS NARROWS; GETTING WORD OUT STILL CRUCIAL
Thanks to a resounding response from N.C. lawyers, online registration for next Friday’s statewide Public Service Day has closed. What is needed now are volunteers for specific shifts on April 4 in Asheville, Charlotte, Wilmington and especially Fayetteville; access the link below for details and procedures. Additionally, every conceivable avenue of grassroots marketing, via distribution of the 4-4 Public Service Day flier, must be pursued in order to ensure the success of this massive 4ALL undertaking. Click here, download, print, copy and distribute, in YOUR city, YOUR county and YOUR community. The 4ALL Task Force thanks you in advance for your efforts.

NEW LINEUP RULES RECEIVE MIXED REVIEWS IN WAYNE COUNTY
Recent changes to criminal lineup procedures have received mixed reviews in Wayne County, the News-Argus of Goldsboro reported this week. Sheriff Carey Winders is not enthusiastic about the new requirements, which District Attorney Branny Vickory says will simply take some getting used to. The appellate courts, Vickory added, will also have to deal with the new law in the future. Among those applauding the new rules are Christine Mumma, director of the N.C. Center on Actual Innocence, and Dwayne Dail, her most recognizable Wayne County client. Dail was freed last year after serving 18 years in prison for a crime he did not commit.
