BOTH DEMOCRATS SEEKING INSURANCE POST ARE NCBA MEMBERS The March/April print edition of North Carolina Lawyer failed to denote the membership status of David C. Smith of Raleigh, an NCBA member seeking the Democratic nomination for Commissioner of Insurance. Smith is opposed by fellow NCBA member Wayne Goodwin. The online edition of North Carolina Lawyer (click here) correctly identifies Smith and currently includes photos of both candidates, who were featured today in an election preview article accessible via the link below. http://www.newsobserver.com/politics/story/1037530.html
WEB SITE OF THE WEEK The enormous success of the NCBA’s recent Public Service Day has been mirrored by extensive efforts to grow the LANC Fund, which has already secured commitments of $570,000. This year’s goal of $1 million is clearly within reach, but with June 30 closing in fast, the importance of individual member support cannot be understated.
