NC BARPAC
NC BARPAC, formed in 1987, is a nonpartisan political action committee whose function is to support the legislative efforts of the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA). As the NCBA seeks to improve the administration of justice in North Carolina, NC BARPAC provides the means to better communicate our position to those in elected office. The political functions NC BARPAC funds are used to support are invaluable to making the contacts necessary to ensure that the NCBA’s extensive legislative agenda becomes law. It also allows us to provide input on legislation proposed by others we do not support. Each piece of NCBA legislation directly improves the quality of law in North Carolina. Legislation affecting business law, estate planning, criminal justice, family law and many other areas has come directly from the NCBA.
NC BARPAC funds are only used to support lawyer-legislators at ticketed events which cannot properly be paid out of association dues or foundation contributions. NC BARPAC funds are not used to make direct political contributions or to promote a partisan agenda in any way. Contributions to the NC BARPAC assist the NCBA in effectively representing itself and communicating its views by gaining access to key decision makers and enhancing the flow of information to legislators. NC BARPAC is a necessary tool in the implementation and execution of the NCBA’s governmental affairs program.
As an NC BARPAC contributor you will be supporting the Association’s continued efforts to ensure that our broad-based association is recognized as the balanced voice of the legal profession.
