NC BARPAC is a political action committee, or PAC, formed by the North Carolina Bar Association in 1987. A PAC is a legal entity that allows organizations to raise money for contribution to political campaigns.
BARPAC is a nonpartisan politial action committee whose function is to support the governmental affairs activities of the North Carolina Bar Association. BARPAC is an essential and necessary tool for the implementation and execution of our NCBA Governmental Affairs program. Contributions to BARPAC provide us with the means to better communicate our position to the public and those in elected office and to represent the full spectrum of lawyers in the legislative process as the NCBA seeks to improve the administration of justice in North Carolina.
As a BARPAC contributor you will be supporting the Association's legislative efforts to both provide input and comments on legislation proposed by others and to enact into law legislation prepared by the Association's sections and committees. Your contribution will enable our representatives to be present at key receptions and events which cannot properly be paid out of Foundation or Association money.
