Lawyers Offer Free Advice For A Day

On Saturday, Feb. 25, lawyers from local bar associations in Ashe, Forsyth, Guilford, Mecklenburg, Nash, and Wake counties will hold public "Ask-A-Lawyer" events.

The Hmong People Task Force of the North Carolina Bar Association will also hold a special program for the Hmong community in western North Carolina.  

During this event, individuals with questions about specific legal issues or the legal system in general will be able to talk with lawyers on a one-on-one basis.

This is a public service of the NCBA and the local bar associations, provided at no cost to the public, in conjunction with the NCBA Young Lawyers Division's fourth annual N.C. Lawyers Statewide Service Day.

All members of the general public are invited and encouraged to come to the nearest event with any questions they may have. 

The locations and times of the events are listed below. Also listed are the local coordinators for each county. Media and members of the public can contact these persons directly for more information about the events.

Ashe County: Noon to 4 p.m., Jefferson Station, West Jefferson.

Guilford County: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Kathleen Price Bryan Family YMCA, 501 West Market Street, Greensboro.

Mecklenburg County: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Dowd YMCA (Education Room), 400 E. Morehead St., Charlotte.

Nash County: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Harrison Family YMCA, 1000 Independence Drive, Rocky Mount.

Wake County: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Crabtree Valley Mall, Center Court, Raleigh.
