Nominations Committee Presents Slate

The Nominations Committee of the NCBA Board of Governors recently reported on its nominations for vice presidents and members of the Board of Governors whose terms will begin in 2007-08.
Formal election of the vice presidents and board members, who will also serve as officers and directors of the NCBA Foundation, will take place on Saturday morning, June 23, in conjunction with the General Session of the 2007 NCBA Annual Meeting, scheduled June 21-24 at the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa in Asheville.
Election of the new president-elect of the North Carolina Bar Association will also take place during the General Session.
Nominees for one-year terms as vice presidents of the NCBA Board of Governors are Judge John M. Tyson of the N.C. Court of Appeals, Judge Albert Diaz of the N.C. Business Court in Charlotte, Wake County District Court Judge Jane P. Gray and Dean John C. “Jack” Boger of the University of North Carolina School of Law.
Former Superior Court Judge Shirley L. Fulton of Charlotte, who currently serves as chair of the Charlotte School of Law Board of Advisors, is being nominated to serve a two-year term as vice president.
Nominees for three-year terms as members of the NCBA Board of Governors are Catharine B. Arrowood, Phyllis B. Pickett and M. Gray Styers Jr. of Raleigh, Clifford P. Britt of Winston-Salem, David A. Bohm and Debra L. Foster of Charlotte and Peter G. Pappas of Greensboro. Styers is currently fulfilling the final year of a vacant board seat.
Candice S. Wooten of Winston-Salem chaired the Nominations Committee, which also included Locke T. Clifford, Stephen D. Coggins, Nancy S. Ferguson, James R. Fox, Richard M. Lewis Jr., Nikole Mariencheck, Nancy Borders Paschall, Elizabeth L. Quick, Harriett T. Smalls, Trawick H. Stubbs Jr., H. Randolph Sumner, Howard F. Twiggs, John H. Vernon III and Kaye R. Webb.
