AOC Offices Are Now Under One Roof
Article Date: 7/1/2007
RALEIGH -- The North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts is on the move. For the first time more than 400 employees of the AOC in the Raleigh area are being located all under one roof, and it’s a big job.
AOC Director Ralph Walker takes a hands-on approach during move to N.C. Judicial Center. | More than 180,000 square feet of office space was found in the former Nortel training center located near the State Fairgrounds and RBC center at 901 Corporate Center Drive in West Raleigh.
The building was leased and will now become the North Carolina Judicial Center. The lease was signed for 15-years through Anthony & Company, a Raleigh commercial realtor.
Already located in the space are the Director’s Office, part of the Technical Services Division, Human Resources, Finance, Court Programs, Guardian Ad Litem, Research and Planning, and Legal Affairs.
The next wave will include the employees of the Court Services Division and Boards and Commissions. A warehouse to supply court facilities statewide is expected to be completed on the site by late spring of 2008.
Until now, employees of the Administrative Office of the Courts have been scattered among 5-buildings in the Raleigh area. The new Judicial Center will include more than 500 parking spaces and a cafeteria. As of the first of July, the new main number for the center is (919) 890-1100.
