2008 Citizen Lawyer Nominations Sought
Article Date: 1/15/2008
The NCBA Citizen Lawyer Task Force is seeking your help in identifying lawyers who provide exemplary service to their communities. Citizen lawyers in our state volunteer time in their communities in a variety of ways above and beyond their work as lawyers.
Some are involved in public service in local or state government in elected or appointed positions. Some lawyers devote a substantial amount of time coaching youth sports teams or serving as tutors or mentors to young people in their local schools or communities. Others serve as volunteers or Board members for non-profit or community organizations. Some citizen lawyers may be well-known throughout the state or in their communities, while others have found ways to serve without any public recognition.
The Citizen Lawyer Task Force hopes to recognize citizen lawyers from many different communities across our state each year during the NCBA Annual Meeting. Please take a moment to nominate a deserving citizen lawyer who reaches out to their communities to make North Carolina a better place in which to live.
Nominations may be made by individuals, firms or local bar organizations. Please submit nominations on or before March 15, 2008, to Michelle Frazier, PO Box 3688, Cary, NC 27519. If you have any questions, please contact Michelle Frazier at the North Carolina Bar Association by telephone (800-662-7407) or e-mail (mfrazier@ncbar.org). Thank you for taking the time to nominate a citizen lawyer for this recognition.
