Are you looking for a Career Day speaker? A mock trial presentation or moot court team coach? How about a pre-packaged, curriculum-friendly lesson plan on the use of credit? The Constitution or any other of a wide variety of law-related topics? Or maybe you'd like to expand your own horizons and advance your career by attending a A.P.P.L.E. Conference or applying to become a Fellow of the Justice Teaching Institute? Then you've come to the right place! LRE gives you access to the PEOPLE, PROGRAMS and PUBLICATIONS you need for law-related education.
People: Through its statewide network of volunteer lawyers, LRE can put you in touch with an attorney in your area willing to visit your classroom – just let us know the topic or ask us for suggestions, and we’ll match you up with a speaker. Click here to register to become an LRE Education Partner. If you currently are enrolled as an "LRE Education Partner", click here to request a speaker.
Programs: LRE offers four programs of interest to educators:
- A.P.P.L.E. Conference (Attorneys Partnering for Progress in Legal Education)
- We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution
- NC Bar Center Field Trips
- Justice Teaching Institute (JTI)
Publications:
LRE offers a variety of law-related topics that come in all formats (video, brochure, booklets, etc.) and are available to educators to download or order through our searchable online Publications Station. LRE can also provide speakers to support these publications in your classroom.
NC Bar Association's Sections and Committees develop new publications with the LRE Department as well as offer workshops to educators and the community.
LRE also provides information to educators about non-NCBA publications and programs of interest through our WebLinks service, providing links to other law-related and civic education websites that may be useful to North Carolina educators.
