LRE Acquires Project Citizen Program
Justice Teaching Institute (JTI) 2009 The Law-Related Education Advisory Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association Foundation invites all Middle and High School social studies and language arts teachers to apply to participate in the Justice Teaching Institute on Monday, August 3, 2009 – Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Charlotte School of Law.
Educators will gain a deeper understanding of justice and North Carolina's judicial system. Events from the Indian Removal Act of 1830, to the Greensboro Sit-Ins, all the way to the coastal plain and the 1898 Wilmington Race Riots and other events in between. North Carolina has a history steeped in richness, adversity and triumph, all of which will be addressed and discussed in greater detail, through interactive lessons and discussion. Teachers will walk away with relevant resources and materials.
