Career-Technical Education Conference (CTE)

NCBA Construction Law Attorneys to present at the Career-Technical Education (CTE) Conference to be held on July 21-24, 2009 at the Sheraton Greensboro Hotel at Four Seasons/Koury Convention Center.

Expected Speakers on Thursday, July 23, 2009:

Doug Jeremiah - Non-form Contract Issues
Bob Meynardie - Green Building Considerations
Rianna Smith - Immigration Issues in the Construction Industry
Jay Wilkerson - Payment and Performance Bonds:  What are They and Why Should Students/Subcontractors Care?

Nan Hannah, LRE Advisory Committee and NCBA Construction Law Section member coordinated the speakers for the conference and has presented over the past years.

"The expectation is that the audience will have two different agendas.  First and foremost, they are there as teachers in the Construction Trades who are attempting to increase their knowledge base for the purpose of instructing their mostly high school students who are taking classes to grow up and become our clients.

As a by-product, many of these teachers practice their trades in their off time to supplement their incomes and to keep current in the field.  Some have actual business entities, but most are sole proprietors who may have first hand, actual need for the information you convey."

Educators can register at: http://www.ctenc.org/
