Public Service and Pro Bono Activities

For information on National Pro Bono Week please click here!

The Public Service and Pro Bono Activities Department of the North Carolina Bar Association Foundation serves as the center for coordinating public service and pro bono activities for the North Carolina Bar Association and Foundation.

WE DO NOT PROVIDE REFERRALS TO PRO BONO OR VOLUNTEER LAWYERS.

Pro Bono Project
The purpose of the Pro Bono Project is to work with various entities within the North Carolina Bar Association and Foundation, the legal services community and various non profit agencies to develop programs and projects to assist low income and modest means people in North Carolina.

North Carolina Lawyer Referral Service
The purpose of the NC LRS is to connect North Carolina lawyers with people needing an attorney but don’t know where to go.  LRS attorneys provide a service to the public in that they will charge no more than $30 for the initial up to 30 minute consultation.  Additional charges for their services will vary by attorney.  NC LRS DOES NOT PROVIDE REFERRALS TO PRO BONO ATTORNEYS.
