Sections
The first section was formed by the NCBA Board of Governors in 1979 in an effort to meet the needs of lawyers making the effort to focus their practice to a specific area of law. Currently, the NCBA is home to 28 sections and four divisions, all designed to benefit lawyers specializing in one area of law or another.
Generally, all sections:
- Publish a section newsletter, containing relevant news and case information.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of CLE seminars that are relevant, timely and interesting to members.
- Lobby the General Assembly through the Office of Governmental Affairs.
- Educate fellow members by offering fellow members CLE opportunities unique to the needs of attorneys in that practice area.
- Serve the community with community-focused initiatives.
