Security Warning Tied To Google Chrome
NCBA members and others visiting our website may have noticed a “Not Secure” warning message recently when attempting to register for a CLE course or access course materials. This issue appears to be isolated to site visitors using Google’s Chrome 56 web browser.
First of all, rest assured that our website is secure. The issue resides with Google, which is working to correct this problem universally, hopefully by the end of this month.
Second, the message is easily bypassed.
Users encountering the message (click here to see message) should first click “Advanced” at the bottom left of the screen. This will expand the message (click here to see message) to include a sentence reading “Proceed to gateway.ncbar.org (unsafe). Simply click on this hyperlinked text, which is indeed secure. Should the message appear again in subsequent visits, follow the same process again.
We apologize for any inconvenience or concern this message may have caused, and thank you for your patience. If you have any questions, please contact the CLE Department of the NCBA Foundation at 1-800-228-3402 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
