The Young Lawyers Division of the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina Attorney General and the North Carolina Association of Feeding America Food Banks are proud to announce that the Legal Feeding Frenzy is back for 2017!

The feeding frenzy will run from March 6 through March 31. The kickoff event with Attorney General Josh Stein was held in Raleigh on March 2 at the Second Harvest Food Bank for Central and Eastern NC.

As part of the kickoff event, bar members volunteered their time to help sort donations, pack boxes and assist with other simple projects that lay the groundwork for the food bank’s success.

Legal Feeding Frenzy is a food and monetary donation drive conducted in coordination with the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office supporting food banks in their effort to address the needs of over 1.4 million North Carolinians who are food insecure.

Last year, these food banks served over 140 million meals to those in need in our state through their work with more than 2,500 community charities in all 100 counties, including church pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters and shelters for victims of domestic violence, low income child care facilities, senior meal programs and after school programs.

Legal Feeding Frenzy entrants who show the greatest support will win an award and recognition for their contributions by the Attorney General. These awards include the Attorney General’s Cup presented to the overall champion, as well as awards for the greatest contribution among solo practitioners, small, medium, and large firms, law schools, public sector attorneys and in-house/corporate legal departments.

The awards ceremony will take place April 24 at the N.C. Bar Center at 1 p.m.
