David Bohm received NABE’s Peer Excellence Award.

David Bohm, assistant executive director of the North Carolina Bar Association since 2008, was honored at the 2014 annual meeting of the National Association of Bar Executives in Boston as a recipient of the Peer Excellence Award.

The Peer Excellence Award recognizes members who have made a significant contribution to NABE. Bohm was previously honored by NABE in 2011 as the recipient of its President’s Award.

Bohm is a native of Osborne, Kan. He received his bachelor’s degree from Washburn University in 1995, graduating magna cum laude, and subsequently earned his juris doctor from the Washburn University School of Law in 1998. He also holds a master of law (LL.M.) in health law from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law, completing his studies there in 2000.

Prior to coming to the NCBA, Bohm engaged in private practice as an associate with Sumrell, Sugg, Carmichael, Hicks & Hart of New Bern (1999-2003) and Johnston, Allison & Hord of Charlotte (2003-2008).

Licensed to practice in Kansas in 1998 and North Carolina in 1999, Bohm is active in the National Association of Bar Executives and on nonprofit boards at the Cary YMCA and Wheels 4 Hope.

Bohm and his wife, Summer, have two children and reside in Apex.
