NCBA Website Earns National Honor

Russell Rawlings, Lindsey Crook and Amber Nimocks of the NCBA Communications Department accept award.

The website of the North Carolina Bar Association has received a 2015 Luminary Award for Excellence in Websites. The award was presented by the Communications Section of the National Association of Bar Executives at its annual workshop in Orlando, Fla.

“We are excited to receive this recognition from our peers within the National Association of Bar Executives,” said NCBA Executive Director Allan Head. “I am grateful to everyone on our staff who has contributed to the development and implementation of our new website.”

The NCBA’s new website was unveiled a year ago. Judges in this category noted the clean new design and the elimination of excessive material from the previous iteration of www.ncbar.org as leading reasons for its selection as this year’s winner in the large bar division (15,000 members and up).

Guidelines for the website competition read as follows: A web site effort that exemplifies excellence in usefulness, ease of use, content, and design in meeting the needs of the Web site’s targeted audience.

Websites are judged upon the following:

  • Navigability, ease of use;
  • Design;
  • Success in meeting stated objectives and reaching targeted audience;
  • Content (analytical resources, current news, links); and
  • Innovation and technical excellence

Members of the NCBA staff and outside professionals devoted more than two years to the design and construction of the new website. Throughout the process and beyond, the success of the website has been attributed to every member of the N.C. Bar Center team.

TriMark Digital of Raleigh provided the primary design components of the new website in association with members of the NCBA and its Communications Department.
