Citizen Lawyer Class of 2024: Afi S. Johnson-Parris
Afi S. Johnson-Parris, a N.C. Board Certified Family Law Specialist, is an attorney practicing divorce and family law in Guilford County. She is a partner with the firm Fox Rothschild LLP in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Afi has been recognized as a Super Lawyer and in Best Lawyers in America, as a Lawyers Weekly 2019 Woman of Justice, and as the 2017 Business North Carolina Legal Elite overall winner in Family Law. She is past chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Law Practice and Technology Section and the Family Law Section. Afi is Chair-elect for the over 25,000 member American Bar Association Law Practice Division.
She is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and a published member of its Law Review. Before law school, she served her country as an officer in the Air Force working on communication computer systems.
Afi is an active member of the greater Greensboro community, serving on the board executive committees of the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro and Guilford Education Alliance. She is an active member of The Links Incorporated, Greensboro (NC) Chapter and Greensboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Afi served as President of the Greensboro Bar Association and on the boards of the Carolina Field of Honor at Triad Park, the YWCA of Greensboro, the Guilford Coalition on Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, and the Junior League of Greensboro. She is a 2010 graduate of Leadership Greensboro and served as a Program Chair for the 2011 class.
