Courtney LaTourrette Selected as a YLD Star of the Quarter

Since becoming an NCBA representative in 2023, Courtney LaTourrette’s involvement with the Young Lawyers Division has been pivotal in shaping her legal career. During this time, the division’s themes have ranged from “Letters to My Younger Self” to “Belonging with Purpose,” and now to the current theme, “Breaking Barriers.” These themes have consistently highlighted the importance of community, inclusion and wellness.

Now, in her first year of practice, the support of Courtney’s friends and colleagues in the YLD has helped her overcome imposter syndrome and become more confident in herself as an attorney. The YLD has played a vital role in shaping her into a strong, confident and community-focused young lawyer, and because of this, she is honored to have been selected as a Star of the Quarter.

My advice for new YLD members is to get involved. It’s easy to hesitate or wonder if you should, but the YLD is an incredibly welcoming and supportive group. Whether you’re a law student or a young lawyer, the YLD offers valuable insight into various career paths and provides meaningful opportunities to network with attorneys across many practice areas.

Outside of work, Courtney loves spending time with her two cats, Emily and Ghibli, and taking pottery classes. She specializes in creating very lopsided bowls and plates, but she enjoys having a creative outlet and the chance to work with her hands.

The Young Lawyers Division is often referred to as the service arm of the NCBA because so many young lawyers are involved in a multitude of worthwhile projects and public service endeavors. YLD provides a pathway into both the legal profession and the NCBA, with countless opportunities to lead and serve. Learn about upcoming opportunities.
