Law Student Representative: Mariah Webb

Mariah Webb headshot

As both a 2024-25 and 2025-26 NCBA law student representative, Mariah Webb believes the networking resources the NCBA provides, such as the Grab-a-Coffee program, are invaluable to law students — especially those who are first-generation. She decided to get involved with the NCBA to help other first-generation students find and take advantage of these opportunities.

After working in entertainment for 10 years, Mariah was ready for a change. She was drawn to the law because she found the subject matter interesting and the work rewarding, developing a particular interest in civil litigation. She is preparing to join Bell, Davis & Pitt P.A. in Winston-Salem as a litigation associate next fall.

At Wake Forest Law, Mariah serves on the board of the Moot Court team and is an editorial staff member of the Wake Forest Law Review. Her article, “Sexual Healing: The Case for a Medical Exception to the Ban on Prostitution,” was recently selected for publication in the Family Court Review. Through her years of education, Mariah feels she has cracked the code to success in law school.

Law school is a masterclass in prioritization. The key to success is learning to conserve your energy for things that truly matter. With respect to your study habits, this means focusing on the big picture and not getting bogged down in tiny, obscure details. In your personal life, this means drawing and enforcing healthy boundaries. You cannot pour from an empty cup, and your cup is often going to feel empty in law school. Make time for things that fill it.

Students attending ABA-accredited law schools or provisionally accredited law schools are eligible for complimentary membership in the NCBA Law Student Division. Interested in becoming a member of the Division? Learn more about this free membership.
