The Filling the Justice Gap Award: Peggy Pardue

Peggy Pardue - Filling the Gap 2025Peggy Pardue has worked as a Paralegal for over 22 years and works for Hampson Family Law in Raleigh, N.C. She is a former Council Member for the NCBA Paralegal Division (2019-2023) and former Treasurer for the NCBA Paralegal Division Executive Committee (2023 – 2025). She is a member in good standing with the North Carolina Bar Association Paralegal Division – Family Law Section, is the liaison for the Paralegal Division for the family law section, is a co-chair of the Communications Committee, is on the Nominations Committee, serves as a group leader for the NCBF Pro Bono Disaster Legal Services, and she was the recipient of the Distinguished Paralegal Award in 2024.

Peggy has volunteered as a proctor for the North Carolina Paralegal Certification Exam and has been a panelist multiple times for Elon School of Law and a mentor for Paralegal students from various schools. Peggy began working as a Paralegal in 2003 with Meredith J. McGill, P.A., and continued her role as a Family Law Paralegal, transitioning to Hampson Family Law when it opened in 2017.

Before becoming a Paralegal, Peggy was with the North Carolina State Board of CPA Examiners, where she worked for seven years in their disciplinary section and assisted in proctoring the CPA exams in Raleigh and Winston-Salem. Subsequently, she was an Executive Assistant with a local propane company before transitioning into her role as a Paralegal.

Peggy was born in Haddonfield, New Jersey, but has been in the Raleigh area since 1969. When she is not working, Peggy enjoys spending time with family, doing home improvement projects, fishing, boating, and traveling.
