Is Veda available to all members?

Yes. Veda is available to all active NCBA members at no additional cost during the pilot period. Members log in to their existing NCBA account to access it.

How do I access Veda?

What happens after the Veda pilot?

We're using this period to gather feedback and understand how members use Veda. Details about next steps will be communicated to members as they're available.

Where does Veda get its answers from?

Veda answers come exclusively from NCBA content: CLEs, videos, webinars, publications, blog posts, practice area forms and more. Veda does not search the open internet.

Can I see where an answer came from?

Yes. Every answer includes a citation to the specific NCBA resource it was pulled from, so members can read more or reference it directly. Some underlying source materials are accessible only through specific Section memberships or purchased CLE programs/publications. Therefore, members may not have access to paid or gated content, even if the content is cited and used to generate a response.

What if Veda doesn't have an answer to my question?

Veda only draws from NCBA content, so if something isn't covered in our library, it may not return a result. Members can still use other NCBA resources (Member Directory, practice area forums, staff contacts) for additional help.

How is this different from just using ChatGPT or Google?

Generic AI tools pull from the entire internet and can produce inaccurate or unverifiable information. Veda only uses vetted NCBA content created by North Carolina legal professionals, with every answer cited back to its source.

Does Veda give legal advice?

No. Veda is an AI-powered agent that helps members find answers and relevant NCBA resources faster, not legal counsel. Members should always apply their own professional judgment.

Is my data or search history private?

Who can see my search history?

The information, data, text, prompts or other items you input into Veda may be collected and stored as necessary to operate, maintain and support Veda. You should not input confidential information, privileged communications or other sensitive data.

Will my content be used to train any AI models?

No, the NCBA will not train any AI models using your content. Our service providers will not train any AI models using your content.

How is Veda different from West Law, LexisNexis and CLIO?

Where does the name Veda come from?

Veda is the root of the word "wisdom" across multiple languages.
