The Tax Section offers a wide variety of programs on tax issues and engages in tax policy, tax pro bono projects and tax legislative initiatives. The section meets annually with the N.C. Department of Revenue and IRS representatives in North Carolina and focuses on state and local tax issues. It seeks to expand outreach through ongoing projects, such as the Tax Court pro bono initiative and North Carolina military VITA training at Fort Bragg. The section sponsors CLE programs and helps shape NCBA’s legislative agenda for presentation to the General Assembly.
Members receive discounted CLE opportunities, access to a members-only online community forum and invitations to networking socials, panel discussions and Lunch & Learns. The section also offers practice-specific blogs, legislative and policy updates, ethics guidance and opportunities to engage in pro bono work, providing meaningful ways to grow professionally while supporting the broader legal community.
