John Bircher of Davis Hartman Wright Attorneys LLP in Raleigh has been elected to a three-year term on the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees for 2024-27. Bircher is a former member of the NCBA Board of Governors and NCBF Board of Directors, and past chair of the Bankruptcy Section.
Kevin Bunn of Kevin Bunn, Attorney at Law, PC in Cary has been elected president of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice for 2024-25. Bunn was installed in June as the organization’s 51st president at the NCAJ Annual Meeting in Wilmington.
JD Keister of McAngus Goudelock & Courie (MGC) in Raleigh has been confirmed as the 47th president of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys. Keister assumed office in June at the NCADA Annual Meeting in Asheville.
Matt Roberson of McGuire Wood & Bissette in Asheville has been sworn in as president of the Buncombe County Bar. Roberson received the NCBA’s William L. Thorp Pro Bono Award in 2020. The Buncombe County Bar serves as the mandatory bar for Buncombe County.
Candelario Saldana of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP in Charlotte received the 2024 Julius L. Chambers Diversity Champion Award, which is presented annually by the Mecklenburg County Bar through its Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee.
