Judge Fred Morrison Jr. (ret.) was recognized in September for his longtime service on the North Carolina Sentencing and Policy Commission. Morrison, the resolution stated, was appointed to the commission on September 29, 1993, to represent the Justice Fellowship Task Force. He retired as Senior Administrative Law Judge for the N.C. Office of Administrative Hearings in 2023 and received the NCBA Administrative Law Section’s inaugural Administrative Law Award for Excellence in 2017.

Allen K. RobertsonRobertson, a white man with brown hair, wears a light grey shirt, purple tie and black suit. received the 2025 National Association of Bond Lawyers’ (NABL) Frederick O. Kiel Distinguished Service Award. The NABL “exists to promote the importance and integrity of the municipal market by advancing the understanding of and compliance with the law affecting public finance.” Robertson was recognized for his service to the organization at the NABL annual meeting in Washington. He served as NABL president from 2013 to 2014 and as a member of the board of directors for six years. He was on the steering committee for the Bond Attorneys’ Workshop for six years and served as chair in 2009.
