NCBA, UNC-TV Produce Appellate Candidate Forums
The North Carolina Bar Association, in partnership with UNC-TV, is pleased to announce the production of appellate judicial candidate forums for the 2020 election. All candidates for seats on the Supreme Court of North Carolina and the N.C. Court of Appeals are participating in the forums.
Kelly McCullen, UNC-TV Director of Public Affairs, conducted the interviews. The forums include interviews with candidates for chief justice, two associate justice seats, and five seats on the Court of Appeals. Access the interviews here.
“The North Carolina Bar Association is pleased to partner with UNC-TV to sponsor the 2020 Judicial Candidate Forums,” said NCBA President Mark Holt. “We hope these conversations with the candidates for the N.C. Supreme Court and the N.C. Court of Appeals will be a valuable resource for voters concerning this year’s judicial elections.”
The forums will air from Sept. 29 through Oct. 7 on UNC-TV’s main channel and its North Carolina Channel. The broadcast schedule denoted below includes a half-hour program for the Supreme Court chief justice candidates, a half-hour program for the Supreme Court associate justice candidates, and an hour program for the Court of Appeals candidates.
