NCBF Wills for Heroes Clinic Hosted by Elon Law

The North Carolina Bar Foundation, in partnership with Elon University School of Law, hosted a Wills for Heroes clinic on Saturday, April 13, at Elon Law in Greensboro.

A volunteer workforce of nine attorneys, 16 law students and four notaries public produced 79 documents at no cost for 20 grateful first responders and spouses from Guilford County and surrounding areas.

Wills for Heroes is a pro bono legal clinic program sponsored by the NCBF in which volunteer attorneys draft simple wills, health care power of attorney, and financial power of attorney documents for first responders and their families, free of charge. Through this popular pro bono program, members of our legal profession serve first responders who risk their lives to serve the people of North Carolina every day.

NCBF Program Coordinator Bianca Simmons organizes the Wills for Heroes clinics, the next of which is scheduled May 8-9 in Cumberland County.
