New Board Members, Officers Join NCBA Board of Governors
Seven new members of the NCBA Board of Governors were elected to three-year terms on Friday, June 21, at the 2024 NCBA Annual Meeting in Charlotte. Their election was made official during the Annual Meeting Business Meeting and Luncheon at the Charlotte Convention Center.
Newly elected board members who are beginning three-year terms on the Board of Governors in 2024-25 are:
- Taylor Dewberry, Smith Anderson (Raleigh)
- Paula Kohut, Kohut, Adams & Randall, PA (Wilmington)
- Colleen Byers, Colleen Byers Mediation, LLC (Winston-Salem)
- Nicole Patino, Law Offices of L. Nicole Patino, PLLC (Greensboro)
- David Sar, Brooks Pierce (Greensboro)
- John Noor, Roberts & Stevens (Asheville)
- Lindsay Thompson, The Van Winkle Law Firm (Asheville)
Joining the new board members as they begin their service this year are five new vice presidents who were elected by the Board of Governors in April:
One-year terms:
- Judge Valerie Zachary (N.C. Court of Appeals, Yadkinville)
- Judge Louis Bledsoe III (N.C. Superior Court, Charlotte)
- Chief Judge Julius H. Corpening II (N.C. District Court, Wilmington)
- Dean Megan Sherron (Assistant Dean of External Relations, Campbell Law School, Raleigh)
Three-year term:
- Matt Sawchak (Robinson Bradshaw, Raleigh)
Completing the slate of new members of the NCBA Board of Governors, all of whom will serve on the North Carolina Bar Foundation Board of Directors, are:
- Rob Harrington, president-elect, NCBA + NCBF (Robinson Bradshaw, Charlotte)
- Elizabeth L. Quick, chair, Senior Lawyers Division (Womble Bond Dickinson, Winston-Salem)
- Collins Saint, chair, Young Lawyers Division (Brooks Pierce, Greensboro)
- Alice L. Johnson, chair, Paralegal Division (ABB, Cary)
