Vice Presidents Elected, Board Nominees Announced
The NCBA Board of Governors, convening Friday, April 17, elected the following slate of nominees who will serve one-year terms as vice presidents in 2026-27: Justice Tamara Barringer (N.C. Supreme Court, Raleigh), Judge Stephan Futrell (N.C. Superior Court, Rockingham), Judge Diane Surgeon Greene (N.C. District Court, Lumberton), and Dean Andy Klein (Wake Forest University School of Law, Winston-Salem). The Board of Governors also elected Sandra M. Clark (Manning, Fulton & Skinner, Raleigh), who will serve a three-year term as vice president.
The Nominations Committee has also submitted the following slate of nominees for a three-year term on the Board of Governors beginning in 2026-27: Elizabeth Arias (Womble Bond Dickinson, Raleigh), Jasmine McGhee (N.C. Department of Justice, Raleigh), Sidney A. Thomas (N.C. Office of the Commissioner of Banks, Raleigh), Robert H. Wall (Baker Donelson, Winston-Salem), Harrison Lord (Lord & Lindley, Charlotte), R. Lee Robertson (Robertson & Associates, Charlotte) and Alexa Whiteside (WAM Entertainment Law, Mooresville). These nominees will be submitted for election at the NCBA Annual Meeting.
Members who wish to submit additional nominations to the President should refer to Article 10.3(e)(vi)(1) of the NCBA Bylaws. Voting at the Annual Meeting shall be limited to the Nominations Committee nominees and any additional nominees submitted to the President in accordance with Article 10.3 of the NCBA Bylaws.
Tammy Nicholson served as chair of the Nominations Committee, whose membership included Clara Cottrell, Alex Dale, Judge Richard Doughton, Mark Holt, Hilton (Hutch) Hutchins Jr., Beth McKee, Collins Saint and Rebecca Smitherman.
