Annual Summer Internship Scholarship Application

The Government & Public Sector, Criminal Justice, and Zoning, Planning & Land Use sections solicit applications for the Annual Summer Internship Scholarship each spring.

To qualify for the Scholarship, the recipient must be working without compensation (including class credit) in a North Carolina government law department (i.e. City, County, State, or Federal) or non-profit organization and must be currently enrolled in an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited or provisionally accredited law school. The scholarship money must go directly to the recipient. By accepting this scholarship, the recipient agrees to write a blog post about his/her/their intern experience that will likely be published on the NCBA website (subject to approval).

Deadline for submission of applications in 2026 was May 1, 2026. Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the Government & Public Sector Annual Meeting and Reception on Thursday, June 11, 2026.
