The Government & Public Sector Section encourages participation of government and public sector lawyers in the NCBA and develops programs and services valuable to these attorneys. It serves as a unique voice for government and public sector lawyers and paralegals regarding issues that arise in the NCBA, the N.C. State Bar, the General Assembly and other entities. The section also works to ensure ethics rules and proposed decisions of the N.C. State Bar reflect the input and unique concerns of government attorneys, and to provide programs and services that support them.
Members receive discounted CLE opportunities, access to a members-only online community forum and invitations to networking socials, panel discussions and Lunch & Learn programming. The section additionally offers practice-specific blogs, legislative and policy updates, ethics guidance and opportunities to engage in pro bono work, providing meaningful ways to grow professionally while supporting the broader legal community.
