Intellectual Property Section Diversity Scholarship
The Intellectual Property section of the NCBA desires to support diversity in the IP profession. The application process is open to all law students enrolled and in good standing at a law school in North Carolina of any race, color, religion, citizenship, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ethnicity, veteran status, age, disability, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Past recipients of the scholarship may apply.
Scholarship Criteria
To qualify for the NCBA IP Section Scholarship, you must be a current law student (1L, 2L or 3L) enrolled and in good standing at a law school in North Carolina and have the intention to pursue a full-time career in Intellectual Property Law.
We consider all applications and consider the following factors in applicants:
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in their communities and/or in the legal profession.
- Academic and leadership achievements.
- Obstacles or challenges (financial or otherwise) encountered in advancing career objectives.
Life experiences that have shaped values (including a commitment to DEI) and professional goals. - Students of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, persons with a disability, or whose background or experience would otherwise contribute to the diversity of the legal profession are encouraged to apply.
Scholarship Amount: $1,500
