The champions of the 2022 N.C. Legal Feeding Frenzy were recognized on Thursday, April 27, by Attorney General Josh Stein.

Legal Feeding Frenzy is a collaborative effort of the North Carolina Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, the North Carolina Bar Foundation Endowment, Feeding The Carolinas and the N.C. Attorney General.

Spencer Fritts and Meredith Brewer, co-chairs of the YLD Legal Feeding Frenzy Committee, participated in the remote awards ceremony, which is accessible here.

This year’s Legal Feeding Frenzy raised $226,646.42, which equates into 907,699 pounds of food. The winners are listed below, including Rose Harrison Gilreath & Powers of Kill Devil Kills, which captured the Attorney General’s Cup as the overall champion.

This year’s winners are:

  • Attorney General’s Cup – Rose Harrison Gilreath & Powers
  • Large Firm Division – Moore & Van Allen
  • Medium Firm Division – Fox Rothschild
  • Small Firm Division – Morningstar Law Group
  • Solo Practitioner Division – Fisher Law
  • Corporate/In-House Division – Atrium Health
  • Public Interest/Government Division – Legal Aid of North Carolina
  • Law School Division – Campbell Law School

The Altruist Award, which recognizes a “volunteer, participant, and/or partner who has given selflessly and made a significant impact” on the event, was presented to Michele L. Livingstone of Kennon Craver, PLLC in Durham, who previously served as co-chair of the Legal Feeding Frenzy.

Even after assuming a new leadership role within the NCBA for 2021-22, Livingstone continued to play a key role in the LFF by providing invaluable expertise and assistance to the new LFF chairs and bar community as a whole. She served as her organization’s team captain, volunteered at the Food Bank in Raleigh, encouraged participation in the LFF, and much, much more.
